What we really see??

Well today you could say I had an "Eye Opening" experience.  No it was nothing drastic just me observing people as I do.  But I will explain that a bit later...but here is my thought on "What we really see"...
We go through our days looking at things, and some things we just never really see.  And not just things but more importantly people.  Alot of or judgments are based on what someone looks like.  How tall or short, skin color, hair color, skinny or fat, pretty or not, we judge each other on what we see.  We also judge the environment by what we see.
BUT...what are we really seeing???  Did we see that flower in with the trash or did we see the trash?  Did we see the mother loving her baby so much?  Did we see the couple who are just happy to be with each other?  Did we see the man in the expensive car crying?  Did we see the big house filled with no love?  Did we see the homeless family just happy to be together?  Did we see the sun come out and realize it is a new day?
I know too many questions right, nah I don't think there are enough.  But I hope we see what I am getting at.
We don't take enough time to really see the world around us.  Sometimes we just need to close our eyes and really see the world around us.  OK so now I have twisted this, right?  Well not really.  We are, by nature judgmental on what we see, this is from society and the world we live in.  BUT if we just stop and close our eyes and see the world around us and really appreciate what we have and see what is all around us.  Did you hear a bird sing today?  Did you hear a loving voice today?  Did you feel the sun warming your skin?  Did you smell something wonderful today?
So if we could see, really see the world around us from time to time.  Slow down to appreciate what we have and what is all around us we could actually see this world in a new light.  Yes I know there is a lot of negative around us, but sometimes we get so focused on the bad that we miss out on all the good.  The true caring people have for each other, the compassion and the love.  And really see the world we live in.  Not all the negative but look at the good too.  If everyone would look at the good that happens everyday, and report on the good that happens, then some of the bad may actually go away.  Then we could "Really See" the good in the world.  But this has to happen personally first.
So what brought this on today???  Well I spent lunch with some friends today, and a bunch of their friends.  The compassion and the caring for each other no matter the shape, size, color, background, cloths, none of that mattered.  I had the privilege to spend a little bit of time with them today.  And I got to see, "Really See" the good in people instead of all the bad that we always focus on.
And I think that they actually see better than I do at times, and I am the one that can see.
